Bake in oven until potatoes are tender, 60-70 minutes.

* Any well melting, hard cheese can be substituted for cheddar so feel use whatever you have on hand. Alternately, cheese can be eliminated entirely to make scalloped potatoes. Increase milk by ½ cup.

  1. Looks delicious Cynthia!

I love au gratin potatoes, I usually just eat them whenever my friend cooks them but since it’s covid, I haven’t tasted it for months and I do crave for some, never knew it’s that easy! I can definitely make this on my own. I noticed there’s no garlic there in the recipe, do you think it’ll kick up the flavour a bit if I add in some garlic?

    1. It was always amazing to me how easy many recipes are once you try them!  As for the garlic, I think this would be great.  I’m a garlic fan as well I think I’ll try this the next I make them!

  2. Oh, that is yummy! While reading it, I had the urge to give your recipe a try. And I will certainly do. Also, the other recipes sound great. For the potatoes, I have the ingredients at home, so it is easy to prepare. You have created a beautiful website. Thank you very much!

    1. Thank you for your kind words! I try to keep things simple, both the ingredients and the steps required.  Let me know how you liked the potatoes!

  3. We love Au Gratin Potatoes and that includes my fussy kids who hate just about everything. However, I only have one problem when it comes to supper- I only make suppers that are easy and straightforward. There are so many recipes of Au Gratin that require far too many steps and ingredients! Thanks for simplifying it, it sounds delicious and I can’t wait to make it!
