Homemade Pepperoni Pizza

Lily, Olivia and Khloe make homemade pepperoni pizza in this installment of Lily-Rose: Kindergarten Cook! The pizza dough is made ahead of time for easy assembly.

Homemade Pepperoni Pizza

1 basic pizza dough, after 4+ hour refrigeration

½ cup pizza sauce

2 cups grated extra-sharp cheddar cheese

25 slices pepperoni

Coat a 15”x10” baking sheet with cooking spray and press dough into the bottom of the pan.  Alternately, you can use one large or several smaller round pizza pans.  It can also be adjusted according to how thick or thin you prefer your pizza.

Cover the dough and let it rest for 30 minutes while you preheat the oven to 500℉.

Bake the crust for 5 minutes and remove it from the oven.

Top with pizza sauce, cheddar cheese and pepperoni.

Bake for an additional 8 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the toppings are bubbly.  Allow to cool slightly before cutting.

  1. This is a simple but tasty recipe.

I love that I can make my own pizza base as it is always a lot fresher and tastier than a bought one.  However, I had to go to another recipe to get it, but that was no big deal.

It was great to have the video so that I didn’t have to guess anything.  I also thought it was clever to make it a family event!

A handy and tasty recipe which the whole family will love.

    Thanks for sharing.

    1. I love homemade pizza!  I’ve been doing it for years and it’s a family favorite.

Thank you for the comments on the video.  The girls love to make videos so I let them do it.  There’s nothing like having some fun while learning to cook!

  2. There are several things here that I have been doing differently. I don’t have very much experience making pizza. So, I will follow your guide. The first is to let the dough rest for 30 minutes while I preheat the oven to 500℉. And the other is to bake the crust for 5 minutes in advance before I top it with pizza sauce and the other stuff that goes on it!

    Thank you!

    1. Everyone has their own way of doing things but there’s not really a right or wrong.  I give my crust a rest and a prebake simply because I like a thicker crust!  Please let me know what you think of this particular pizza after you’ve tried it!

    1. The great thing about this homemade dough is that it can “rest” covered in the fridge for up to 3 days.  As a matter of fact, the longer you let it rest, the better it tastes.  And I hope your kids enjoy making this as much as mine did!  Please check back in to let me know.

  4. As a fan of cheat days when I’m not exercising or eating healthy, homemade pepperoni pizza is one of my go to foods. It’s amazing how much money you can save by making your own pizza at home instead of going to pizza hut or little caesars. I think your article is very comprehensive and interesting to read. Thanks for this informative and valuable content.
