  1. Hi Cynthia! Wow! The Cinnamon Brown sugar oatt meal seems Yummy,  from the picture it looks like Beans!. This is my first time hearing about it! I would love to put your recipe to test and give this a try.  Thanks for sharing! I am anxious to try it. Does it have to be brown sugar? can White sugar also do the job?

    1. Your comment about it looking like beans caught my attention so I had to look.  Those raisins certainly look very “bean-like”, don’t they? 😉

You can sweeten this oatmeal any way you choose.  White sugar, honey or maple syrup would all work well.  Let me know what you decide to use and how it came out!

  2. Thanks for the Cinnamon Brown Sugar Oatmeal with Raisins recipe! I have most of those ingredients available in my location, but I’m still considering where precisely to order the rest that aren’t within my reach at this time of the year. I can access the old-fashioned rolled oats, the sucrose, the milk, the raisins, and others except the Vanilla. Is it what I can order for online?

    1. You can certainly order vanilla online but feel free to substitute another seasoning.  Maple syrup, molasses or bourbon come to mind. You could also substitute another extract such as almond. Let me know what you decided and how it tasted!

  3. Thank you so much for sharing this great recipe, I work out quite a lot and I am always looking for a great meal to have in the morning besides eggs and bacon as it’s simply not healthy to eat too often. I have oatmeal often in the mornings but your version of it just elevates it to new heights, I can’t wait to try it!

  4. I have never eaten oats like this. The picture itself looks yummy and the recipe is easy. I will definitely try this one out. Thank you for sharing it with us. Porridge is my usual way of eating the whole oats. Something different is always good to try out. I noticed some of your other articles and recipes look interesting and warrant further investigation.

    1. Oatmeal made this way is a big thing in my neck of the woods (New Hampshire, USA).  Please let me know how it compares to the porridge you like!
